The Latin name was Vadum latum, or (roughly)
wide vista. An ancient village perched half way
up the mountain to ward off invaders and
pirates, During the crusades Badolato was a
vibrant and prosperous town. Today, after years
in decline, the village is once again on the grow,
thanks to the ambition and hard work of people
who love it for the beauty, and of course,
tranquility.
